This series is a venture in volume through the technique of lost wax casting. The rings are made to be large and present on the hand, whilst remaining light and wearable. Through experimentation with building up the volume in wax, the structure becomes the ring itself, ensconcing the finger. During casting, the texture retained from the waxwork always has a surprisingly different quality in metal. The translation from wax to silver turns the metal mysterious and unrecognisable.
