Puffed Up
In Danish, the term Opblæst (puffed up) literally means something is full of air, but is also used to describe a person who is arrogant or full of empty talk. The pieces are inflated like balloons but the metal is fragile. This gives the user an active role as co-creator, the pieces can be dented when worn and the forms will therefore gradually lose their puffed-up character. It is tempting to interpret this 'puncturing' as a comment not only on the jewellery industry's empty rhetoric but also on the art scene, for neither is devoid of pretentious talk without justifiable substance.
