Out of Focus

"The ring's form is that of signet ring, and an out-of- focus ring of this type is the opposite of what we associate with people who wear signet rings. This is the ring for people with a family tree, family crest and monogram that is often engraved on the face of the ring. That such self-aware people should be "out of focus", in the sense of being the sort one does not particularly notice, would almost be a provocation."
